Monopolar radiofrequency — Thermage
Radiofrequency heats the deeper skin to tighten it and build collagen, in one session.
Worth it?
3/5Gives a gentle firming that some people love and others barely notice. Expensive for subtle results. Compare it with RF microneedling, which is often better value.
How it works
Radiofrequency energy heats the dermis and the tissue under it while the device cools the surface. The heat makes collagen fibres contract right away, and the skin builds new collagen over the following months.
How it feels
Bursts of deep heat, with the tip cooling in between. FLX is less painful than older versions but still intense on bony areas.
Monopolar radiofrequency — Thermage downtime — and is it worth it?
How much downtime: Low — None. Mild redness for a few hours.
Cost for that downtime: $2,000–$5,000 per face, 1 session, repeated every 1–2 years.
Is it worth it? Our verdict (3/5): Gives a gentle firming that some people love and others barely notice. Expensive for subtle results. Compare it with RF microneedling, which is often better value.
